Month: April 2017

What can I say about this episode? It was the most fun I’ve had in a while. Considering the Christmas special they gave us this was practically art.  I enjoyed the Christmas special but I also know that I was Who-Starved.  I’ll start at the beginning.

I saw the episode at a movie theater and was not very surprised at how few people were in the theater for this wonderful occasion. I happened to see a hipster version of 9 and he even had the correct Screwdriver. I’ve seen cosplay with the incorrect screwdriver and I don’t know why that increases my nerd-rage.  After some trivia, River is The Doctor’s wife NOT his damn daughter, we were treated to the Series premiere of Class. Class was gory, fun, exciting, scary, and just a delight.

After a short interlude where we meet Pearl Mackie we were blessed with the gift of Series 10 Episode 1 of  Doctor Who titled Pilot. Pilot introduces us to Bill and reintroduces us to Nardole.

Nardole, for those of us who are long-time fans, was introduced to us in the episode titled “The Husbands of River Song”. This was a delightful episode also.  Pilot not only introduces us to Bill and Nardole, but reminds us of why The Doctor is who he is. The Doctor offers to tutor Bill, who isn’t a student at the university The Doctor teaches at. As per usual with The Doctor people are enthralled with The Doctor and tons of people who are not enrolled in the course attend the lectures. We are reminded of The Doctor’s compassion and desire to teach.

I could go on and on about how much I loved the episode, but overall I truly enjoyed the episode. I was reminded about why I enjoyed the show to begin with and why I enoyed Moffat’s writing. I’m sad to see Peter go but happy to see Moffat leave. I hope that this is the beginning of a good season.
